What does a bookkeeper do?
A bookkeeper records and reconciles your business’s expenses, income and transactions.
We provide monthly financial statements which give you a clear picture of the financial health of your business.
We can also work to help you with payroll, invoicing, bill tracking and payments.

How do I know if I need a bookkeeper?
1) Your business is making steady income, but you have no idea how to track it all correctly.
2) You keep putting off your books because you have too many other things in your business to focus on.
3) You need help preparing your finances and books for your accountant at tax time.

What information do you need from me?
On the discovery call we will ask you some basic questions about your business, but will not need access to any of your accounts or financial statements at that point.
If you choose to move forward to onboarding we will send you a list of documents needed from you, or for you to grant us view only access to.
Our level of access to your accounts will be as minimal as possible and granted only with your permission.
-
What is Onboarding?
Onboarding comes after the discovery call when you’ve decided you are ready to outsource your bookkeeping to us.
Onboarding starts with finalizing our business agreement (the services we will provide and the cost of those services).
During onboarding we will be collecting documents and information from you about your business’s finances. You can expect us to email back and forth during this setup process.
-
What software do you use?
For bookkeeping we work exclusively in Quickbooks.
For payroll we work exclusively with Gusto (if we are running payroll for you).
We will work with your property management software to manage property numbers and will complete the final bookkeeping in Quickbooks.
-
Can you also file my taxes?
No, but we will work with your accountant to get them the information they need to file your taxes.
-
What is the difference between an accountant and bookkeeper?
Your accountant usually sees your books once a year or quarter. Bookkeepers work with the day-to-day flow of money in your business and what it means to you.
Accountants offer guidance how to set up your books, and bookkeepers do the day-to-day work keeping your books in compliance with your accountant’s recommendations and applicable laws.
